About the Author: Nazli Currim, author, educator, and social worker, was born in Mumbai, India, and migrated to Karachi, Pakistan. She now resides in Phoenix Arizona.
Currim's extensive work in Early Childhood Education has enabled her to understand the child's mind and its complexities. The strong fiber in Currim's teaching the children of the world was instilling in them respect, acceptance and appreciation of those children who were different from them.
Her first book, Grandma Lives With Us portrays a blend of multi-ethnic cultures tied together with universal values and emotions of love, empathy, and sympathy.
Her second book, Welcome to Ramadan, Sarah! portrays the enthusiasm and excitement of Sarah in her desire to observe the very first fast of her life.
Currim is one of the founding members of the American Muslim Women's Association, which mobilized many young men and women to assist the grief stricken refugees from around the world.
Currim has been recognized by local organizations for exemplary service in helping the various communities in Phoenix, Arizona. She developed the Montessori Education Program for the Arizona Cultural Academy.
She was a member of The Muslim Advisory Council to The Tempe History Museum. Currim assisted with the exhibit, Jewel in the Desert, and was a group recipient of the MLK Award.
